What you need to know…
Once licensed, foster parents must complete 40 hours of continuing training during each two year certification period. Continued training will consist of courses that a foster caregiver must complete in accordance with the caregiver’s Individual Training Needs Assessment and continuing training plan.
Training can be achieved in a variety of methods. Some of these include training offered by Inner Peace Homes and the Regional Training Center.

Foster caregivers need to include their name, address, daytime telephone number and that they are a foster caregiver licensed with Inner Peace Homes.
Aside from classroom training, foster parents may use the following activities as opportunities for expanded training with the pre-approval of Inner Peace Homes:

Videos, books, and educational programs offered through various sources in the community can also be used.
Foster parents may only achieve up to a third (13 hours) of his or her continuing training requirements using non-classroom type methods of training. Caregivers must obtain a certificate of attendance and/or complete documentation form to obtain credit. ***How attach form or designate to go get form in Forms section?***
Although not required, foster caregivers are encouraged to complete and maintain certification/recertification for First Aid and Infant, Child and Adult Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
